Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process when you use canceldiscount.com ("the Site") and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We keep data collection to a minimum: the Site is a free directory and does not require an account.

2. Hosting and server logs

The Site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, our hosting provider automatically processes technical data sent by your browser (including your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer, and browser/operating-system information) in server log files. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website). As our host is based in the USA, data may be transferred there; such transfers are safeguarded by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

3. The "Submit a deal" form

When you voluntarily submit a deal, we process the information you enter:

• Service/company name, the offer, category and cancellation channel
• Any details you add describing how you obtained the offer
• Your email address (optional), only if you choose to provide it

Purpose: to review, verify and (where appropriate) publish the offer in the directory, and to follow up with you if you provided an email. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent, given by submitting the form) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in maintaining an accurate directory). Published listings do not include your email address or other identifying details.

Form submissions are processed through Netlify Forms (provided by our host) and a hidden anti-spam ("honeypot") field is used to filter automated submissions.

4. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) to understand, in aggregate, which pages and listings are useful so we can improve the Site. Analytics is only loaded after you give consent via our cookie banner. We use Google Consent Mode, so until you accept, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected. We also enable IP anonymization.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent). You can withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, which clears the analytics cookies for future visits. Google may process data on servers in the USA; such transfers are safeguarded by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can also install Google's opt-out browser add-on.

5. Cookies

We do not use advertising cookies. The only non-essential cookies we set are Google Analytics cookies, and only after you consent (see above). We store your consent choice locally in your browser so we don't ask again on every visit. Our host may set strictly necessary cookies required to serve and secure the website.

6. Data retention

Server logs are retained by our host only as long as needed for security and operational purposes. Form submissions are kept for as long as necessary to verify and maintain the directory; you may ask us to delete your submission at any time (see your rights below).

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
• request rectification (Art. 16) or erasure (Art. 17)
• restrict or object to processing (Art. 18, 21)
• data portability (Art. 20)
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing (Art. 7(3))
